Yamaha Motor Germany can look back on many years of experience with cups, which were considered a talent factory and enabled some drivers to jump into top international classes.

In 2019, the Yamaha representatives for Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland each had their own cup, in which young riders and young talents hunted for the best times with the YZF-R3. All three cups had completely different concepts. In 2020, the synergies and the experience gained from the past will be used and the competencies will be combined into a cross-border cup, which runs as an independent racing series within the framework of the IDM.

“In preparation for the real road racing championships, I started my career in motocross, where I became German champion in the 50cc junior class in the DJMV (German Youth Motocross Association) in 2017.”, said the 12 years old Rocco Sessler and continued: “When I was 11 years old, I switched to my Yamaha R3 road bike and will now take part in the international Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup in 2021, in which, based on my experience and over 6,000 kilometers of training, with my father and trainer, Gerhard Sessler (formerly a superbike professional), calculate great chances of a top placement.”
