Philip Geipel and his co-driver Katrin Becker-Brugger narrowly missed out on overall victory at the Atlantis rally in Schleswig-Holstein last weekend.
Geipel / Becker-Brugger and the Finns, Pieatrinen / Linnaketo fought an exciting duel in their Skoda Fabia R5 last Saturday in Stuvenborn. The 51st edition of the Atlantis Rally offered a super-class heart-stopping finale under all circumstances.
“It was a lot of fun to start here in Schleswig-Holstein. The tests were very slippery and demanding even with our modern all-wheel drive vehicles. We are very satisfied with the overall victory, ”said the Finn after the event. The second-placed Geipel was also satisfied at the finish: “It was a really exciting rally. We are super satisfied with second place, we even led very tightly up to the last special stage. Thanks to Katrin and the team for the great performance. Compliments also to the organizers, who put together a good and demanding rally under difficult conditions. ”
It will probably continue on November 6th. to the Sumava rally. The third of six rallies planned for this year.
