Almost home …

It almost became a weekend at the ADAC GT Masters, as it has often been with YACO Racing: Rahel Frey and Philip Geipel start from midfield, they have maximum fighting spirit, it is an incredible catching up – and in the end: placement in the points. However, the gods of racing put a stop to the team from Plauen in Zandvoort (August 17 – 19, 2018). Despite intensive work on the car, it has not been enough to get the first points in the league of super sports cars in 2018. Only the fresh talent Simon Reicher was able to finish twice in the top ten in the ADAC TCR Germany.

1st race, Saturday – place 15 (qualifying 23rd)

The weekend in Zandvoort started very promising for YACO Racing. The team secured a good starting position in Saturday's qualifying session, aiming at the points from the start. With a clear goal, the green Audi worked its way forward and finally landed in 15th place. Rahel Frey commented on this result: "This was a big step in the right direction. If we stick to this course, we are well on the way back to the points."

2nd race, Sunday – place 27 (qualifying 33rd)

Autumn like weather conditions made for a less than perfect start on the second day in Zandvoort. The Sunday qualifying brought YACO Racing therefore only starting position 33, from where a tie to the results of the previous day was, of course, a great challenge. Nevertheless, the team kept fighting. However, a brake failure destroyed all hopes for points. The green Audi remained in the race until the very end but crossed the finish line only in 27th place. "It is a pity that we were slowed down so hard by these technical problems, but I am still proud of the team's performance – YACO Racing will always fight till the end!", said team leader Uwe Geipel after the race.

ADAC TCR Germany – Simon Reicher

Lying on place 11 in the overall standings before Zandvoort, the fresh talent Simon Reicher wanted to score more points and return to the top ten. Thanks to good placings on both days, he has succeeded in this project. Nevertheless, the young Austrian is not really satisfied. "It's the little things. Either something breaks or I make stupid mistakes that are not typical for me. Until everything finally fits together, that is crazy", he explains his view of the race weekend. Until the end of the season, Simon Reicher definitely wants to fight further.

As an official sponsor, the bluechemGROUP congratulates YACO Racing on the result of Zandvoort and wishes maximum success for the home race at the Sachsenring (September 07 – 09, 2018)! By the way, our bluechemGROUP Audi will be there again, which can be booked for race taxi rides.
